I’m not familiar with Occupational Therapy, what is this?
Occupational therapy (OT) plays a crucial role in supporting the development of children and youth by focusing on enhancing their ability to participate in everyday activities that are essential for their growth and well-being. “Occupation” means meaningful activity, which is pretty much anything a child or youth does during their day. Through personalized interventions, occupational therapists help children and youth navigate developmental milestones, adapt to their environments, and build the foundations for a healthy and fulfilling life. Sameera’s career as an OT involves children, youth, and adults; she spent the initial years of her career as a school-based Occupational Therapist.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. I can provide you with invoices/receipts if you would like to submit these for reimbursement. For those who live in the United States, based on your insurance provider, you may be able to use your HSA card to pay for sessions.
How can I follow up with you after the consultation? What if I have questions?
At the end of our session, I’ll suggest ways in which we can follow up. Perhaps a follow-up consultation would be helpful, to ask your questions and address any other concerns you have related to your child/children. Or I may suggest that you send me a brief email update in a couple of weeks, sharing how things are going and if you need to meet again. Unfortunately, professional guidance cannot be provided over email for ethical and confidentiality reasons. Please also note that consultations do NOT include the presence of your children and are NOT therapy sessions for parents.
